New Beginnings

the move…South Korea

“Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.””

‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As some of you may know, God called me to move to Korea very quickly… or so it would seem. But I have been reflecting on this and so just before I get into the update, please allow me a moment to be transparent.

Looking back I realised God had been trying to get my attention about this 3 times before I fully answered His call. I say this because I am in awe of His grace towards me during this season, where I missed Him. He did not give up on me, but came to me one more time. Not once did I feel condemned by Him when I realised this, but it lead me deeper into Him so that I can get better at recognising His voice in this new season.

Family no matter what it is or what has happened let’s continue to allow every high and low, miss-step or joyful moment to push us deeper into God’s presence.

Emanuela what are you doing and where are you?

Earlier this year I found myself travelling around South Korea, after God spoke to about coming for the new year HOWEVER He did NOT tell me what I would be doing and said He would show me when I got there… and He did. I met many people and travelled to different places. One of those places was YWAM Gadeok, I came to help serve at a youth camp they do for young people called ‘joyful camp’ and I guess you could say the rest is history. During my time in Gadeok, at the camp and after, God spoke to me about this place being home for a while. My heart was moved deeply by the leader’s humility and heart, by the love I experienced, the heart to simply worship God and so much more I can’t fully put into words. Before I left I knew I would be back, but I just never expected it to be so quickly. God continues to work in ways that shatter any limitations I or man put on a situation and even God Himself. He truly made what seemed impossible, possible and called me back to YWAM Gadeok this year to staff for 2 years.

 FAQs

  • This is voluntary work in the sense that I do not get paid. However we are all staff as this is our full time ‘job’. Myself and every other person here are ‘self supporting missionaries’. We pay and live through the provisions God gives us… that can be through savings from previous jobs, but mostly it is from those who God calls to sow into this ministry financially through monthly support and one time donations.

  • Due to a few reasons I will be coming home a few times a year. Your prayers for those trips would be greatly appreciated as it is an additional thing that I am trusting God for both the strength and finances to do so.

  • What staffing looks like may change often, so each update I give may look different. However, what I can say is that I have said yes to being a part of the mission and heart of YWAM Gadeok to reach the next generations of Korea.

YWAM Gadeok’s heart…

“YWAM (Youth With A Mission) was founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham. It is an international and interdenominational mission organisation dedicated to training and sending people of all generations to effectively share the gospel throughout the nations. Currently, over 18,000 full-time missionaries are serving in more than 1,100 locations across 180 countries.

Y WAM Gadeok, established in 2013, is located on the beautiful island of Gadeok (I love it here!) near Busan, South Korea.

With a heart for reaching the next generation in Korea, this international base brings together young people from various cultures to live as a family community, dedicating themselves to worship and evangelism for the expansion of God's Kingdom.

We aim to be a safe and supportive community where anyone can experience rest and restoration in God's presence.

We believe that as young people are restored in God, they will go to the nations and help others restore their relationship with Him and live as disciples of Jesus.

Some of our current ministries include: Intimacy to Impact DTS, Joyful Youth Camp, North Korea Seminar, Seminar Ministries, Jangdaehyun School Support, and the Holy of Holies.”

Training

For the past 2 weeks we have been training and had some family gathering time.

These two weeks God has done so much to my heart, shown me many things and has enabled me to fully settle into this beautiful community He has called me too.

I’m truly grateful for these last two weeks full of worship, surrender to Him, fellowship, laughter, challenges, growth, learning and so much more.

I can feel God stretching me in ways that I have longed for, but didn’t know where to start. I can say that it hasn’t always been comfortable, but growing pains never are.. the joy we have us that it is for our good.

Family, together let’s place our selves into the hands of our creator, soft and ready to be modded and shaped for His glory and into the unique design He has for us individually.

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭64‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A day full of laughter, games and good food xxx

During staff training I found myself uncertain of what ministry He wanted me to join. After some time in prayer He gave me some clear instructions and I waited for Him to confirm it… which He did.

So I will be joining the team this year and staffing for the I2i DTS.

DTS staff training will start 21st July.

I2i Dts

🌍 2025 i2i DTS: Intimacy to Impact DTS 🏄‍♂️

“Show me Your glory.” – Exodus 33:18

Start by joining us on a journey of deeper intimacy with God. A time where leaders of the army of God are raised. A time where you will see the glory of God. We invite families from the nations, we invite the next generation that wants part of Korea’s reunification.

Please, if you know anyone who you think will benefit from, coming to this discipleship training school, please share the link below with them. We are excited and expectant for God will do.

DTS staff!

Here are all the staff members for DTS…

Truly grateful for each and every person here, I am learning so much from them as I continue to get to know them.

Please pray that as we continue our training that we are lead by God and receive all He wants to give us, grow us in and teach AND remove from us.

Please pray for strength and wisdom on when to rest.. We currently have a week off (28th July - 3rd August) which will be our last full week off until the end of DTS in March :). Please pray against burnouts and that we listen to God on how to rest properly on the weekends.

Prayer Points

oh the joys hahahaaa

I lost my phone and when I found it… this is what it looked like.

I have to replace my phone, so please bear with me as my next update may have less photos than this one. Also if you have the heart and are able to help contribute to my new phone, that would be greatly appreciated :)
