21st January - 2nd February Update

Seoul

My first 2 weeks in South Korea felt both challenging and deeply encouraging. I had a few moments where I exclaimed “Lord what am I doing here?!” He truly had to calm me down in those moments and still my heart. However, the highs far out weighed the lows.

Some more info…

  • Dwell House

A beautiful time of worship onto God with others… I went with a friend I made at church and it was such a blessing to worship deeply with people my age and spend time listening to their stories and heart.

This idea was formed by people who wanted to experience deep, intimate worship with God in their home city after coming back from discipleship training schools.

  • Adventures at a Thai restaurant…

Once again God is proving Himself strong. I have never eaten at a Thai restaurant because of the peanut allergy, but here I felt God say He would cover me and keep my food away from cross contamination in the kitchen. I did not tell anyone about this allergy, but simply asked for their to be no peanuts as I don’t like them… I danced my way through this meal, reaction free, eating at my first ever Thai restaurant.

  • A tourist for 2 days

Despite feeling awkward I felt God calling me to be a tourist for the Lunar New Year holiday. I went out and explored. During this time of exploration, while discovering Korea’s history my heart was both in awe of the talents God had given the artisans of past and broken at what they used it for. As humans we often take that which is God given and use it to glorify what grieves His heart and yet He loves us the same way. And so while I continued to explore, I still felt God’s heart yearning for this nation to be united in Him.

  • Church

Beyond grateful for this church. I only had 2 Sundays before I left, but felt the warmth of this church family so much! They welcomed me with open arms. Despite the service all being Korean I was able to worship like I was at home and God still spoke to me through the Word.

  • Community

Messages, practical help, warm embraces and encouraging words…

Church, dwell house, the conference in Wales and more have provided me with a beautiful and growing community of Christian brothers, sisters and mothers in Christ. God promised me a community and I am in awe of how He has already caused it to unfold xxx

Gadeok YWAM

God continues to open doors for me and so leaving my Airbnb a month early I am now in the Korean countryside…

I am currently at the YWAM base in Gadeok, doing staff training and intercession as they get ready for ‘Joyful Camp’; which I will be helping to staff.

Joyful Camp

The Joyful Youth Camp started early 2015 when God spoke to the Gadeok YWAM base in Busan to prepare the reunification generation of North/South Korea through North Korean defected youth, youth born from defected families and South Korean youth.
This camp began when God showed us that there was a need to have a place for this generation to experience God’s great love, build intimacy and deeply understand one another, together.
This camp is for youth with North/South Korean backgrounds, extending to youth from the nations to experience the joy of God’s presence and overcome differences to become one family in Christ.

Please pray as the camp will be taking place in an area where many Buddhists gather. The leaders this year felt God leading them to this place, as He said He wanted His name to be praised here; so please pray that the presence of God will come and that His presence will break the spiritual atmosphere. Please hold the young people in your prayers as they come, that they will lift up their voices to God and also receive healing from all wounds and heart breaks. Also please pray that the joy of God will be tangible and felt by both staff and young people.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” - Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” - James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Your prayers have power…
