July and August

We are full steam ahead now…

Our staff training has officially kicked off now and here is how it has been going, along with a few other things.

Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Early July

At the beginning of July I went on a short trip to Taiwan. It was my first time in that nation and it was lovely to get to know the history of the land a bit more and spend some time of fellowship with other Christians.

Taiwan’s main religions are Buddhism and Taoism, only about 5% of the nation are Christian. There are many spiritual strongholds here, without going into too much detail I ask you to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ over there. Pray that the joy of the Lord will be their strength and for veils to be lifted off people’s eyes so that they can meet with the One True God, Jesus Christ.

Coming Back

Coming back is a new ministry that was formed a few months ago, although we don’t call ourselves a ministry but more a movement as we follow God. We felt God’s heart calling people in my age group in Korea to come back to Him. To come back to Christ and for us to simply go and from relationships with this generation around Korea and be with them as God calls us too. We are a core team of 4 people and have currently put ourselves under the guidance of the DTS leadership to learn.

And so we planned our first outreach week in Korea to form new relationships and travelled with the DTS staff to Jeju island and Daegu, as a part of the DTS staff training.

Outreach

Jeju and Daegu

August

Fresh beginnings

During the outreach I discovered a lie that I was walking out a specific area of my life out alone… I no longer wanted to live in this live anymore. So when I came back to Gadeok for our week off, for the first two days God told me its time for a fresh start Emanuela… lets start with coming out these locs.

Jang Daehyun Camp

Jangdaehyun is a middle and high school for North Korean children. The children have mixed backgrounds, where some students were born in China after their parents defected, children who made that journey across the boarders with their parents from North Korea and some children who we born in South Korea after their parents defected and made it to South Korea.

Our base has an 11year old relationship with the school doing many camps with them and during the DTS with the DTS students going over their for local outreach.

What a joy!

Honestly, this three day camp was such a joy! In the beginning the young people were a little bit awkward, but that did not last long. We had worship, prayer ministry, testimonies, small groups and LOTS of games. I hope the video gives you a good feel of the camp…

Just before heading into September we had a lecture about what DTS are and how to do it with God. Unlike last year, this time around I knew more of what to expect, which made me realise even more I have so much I don’t know. This lecture what so helpful, a week of learning being encouraged and laying down my burdens before God.

What is DTS and our roles as staff lecture?
